β€’ Please yarr meri post LIKE kar dena.. Friends se bhi LIKE kar wa dena…

β€’ I got more LIKES than you πŸ˜›

Random stuff we all get to hear.

But have you ever thought this small

LikeπŸ‘ button have influenced us so much nowadays.
We are so much obsessed with it that a lesser number causes stress , depression , anxiety.

We do everything from buying costly stuffs, visiting places , connecting with strangers on social media to things like risking our lives too gosh.. πŸ˜ͺ

We are flooded with such news ,

β€’ An 18 year boy allegedly committed suicide in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida as his TIKTOK videos were not garnering enough likes.

β€’ Man hit by train in quest of PERFECT SELFIE.

β€’ Police arrest a guy who risks his life in danger making Tiktok videos.

One never thought that a simple LIKE button would ever matter so much in our life.

According to the present scenario, grossing LIKES has become a kind of ”DRUG’

People are now so much ADDICTED of increasing the NUMBERS that they at many a times get carried away , sharing  their lives with strangers. This has not only erased the borders of “INTIMACY” but also comes with its pros and cons.

But the question is why ????

Why so much maddness over the no. of LIKES ??

Why do we want to be LIKED ?

ANSWER is simple.

A high no. of LIKES creates a positive feelings of self-fulfillment and a high self-esteem.A big no. Of LIKES not only boosts the self esteem but it is also a benchmark for achievement. A sign of being POPULAR among others.

Getting a huge no. of likes makes us happy and we become proud of ourselves.
It is becoz it activates a hormone called DOPAMINE.
This we also get from eating a chocolate or winning a lottery.
Being popular and getting more and more LIKES is just like a cycle of reward making you crave more and more for it.

One quote as per the article of The Newstatesman on social media likes :

“Likes are always an indicator of social standing, at my age” says an anonymous 17 year old survey respondent.” As someone who occasionally struggles with self-esteem , the amount of likes on my posts can be both hugely uplifting or depressing.”

Shocking ? 😲 Isn’t it ??

Conclusion

The wish to nurture your self esteem is not a problem.Their is no issue in making yourself popular and stand out from all.

The problem is that people get too much carried away.
They start replacing real life achievements with virtual illusion of self worth.
Creating FAKE SOCIAL IMAGES on virtual platforms just for being POPULAR.

In order to stop this addiction for LIKES we all need to work on it.There should be a proper balance between the time we spend virtually and in real life.

We need to promote a balance between virtual and real life for the health of our future as human beings.
